Job Title: Photographer and Graphic Designer 

Location: Sinja, Sennar State, Sudan

Type of contract: Short-term contract

Duration: 2 months with possibility of extension

We are a youth-led environmental organization dedicated to promoting sustainable practices and empowering communities. We are urgently looking to recruit dynamic and skilled professionals to join our team in this critical mission.

ROLE PURPOSE:

Under the supervision of the Communication Officer, He/she will be responsible for:

• Capture high-quality photographs and videos that align with DCES’s environmental initiatives and humanitarian projects.
• Create visually compelling graphic designs for reports, campaigns, and social media content.
• Enhance the organization’s visibility and branding through creative visual storytelling.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

1. Document DCES events, workshops, and field activities through photography and videography.
2. Design promotional materials, including brochures, posters, and infographics.
3. Manage and organize the organization’s photo and video archives for easy retrieval and future use.
4. Collaborate with the communications team to ensure visual content aligns with DCES’s messaging and branding guidelines.
5. Ensure timely delivery of visual materials for campaigns and reports.
6. Maintain and safeguard all photography and design equipment provided by the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

1. Proven experience in photography and graphic design, with a portfolio of previous work.
2. Proficiency in using graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva.
3. Strong skills in photo and video editing software, such as Adobe Lightroom and Premiere Pro.
4. Excellent attention to detail and a creative eye for composition and design.
5. Ability to work under tight deadlines and willing to travel and adapt to dynamic environments.
6. Prior experience working with non-governmental or environmental organizations is an advantage.
7. A degree or certification in photography, graphic design, or a related field is preferred.

Additional Information:

This position is open to applicants who are willing to work from Sinja locality or with a preference for those based in or near the Sennar State. This role will involve occasional travel between Sennar and Port Sudan.
