Introductory Meeting

Amid the ongoing crisis in Sudan, access to clean water and sanitation is not just a service β€” it’s a lifeline. With support from USAID and IOM, we stand with conflict-affected communities in North Darfur to restore dignity, protect health, and bring hope through safe water and hygiene

As part of our ongoing humanitarian response to the crisis in Sudan, and with generous support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and in strategic partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), our organization held the Introductory Meeting for the WASH Project at Tawila Al-Omda Camp, North Darfur.

πŸ’§ The project aims to improve the health and living conditions of approximately 25,000 conflict-affected individuals through the following key activities:

  • Provision of clean drinking water
  • Rehabilitation of hand pumps
  • Installation of water tanks
  • Construction of emergency latrines and handwashing stations
  • Community-led hygiene awareness campaigns

πŸ” The meeting included a comprehensive presentation of the project objectives, selection criteria for target locations, and implementation mechanisms.

πŸ‘₯ Participants included local leaders, women representatives, volunteers, and humanitarian actors.

πŸ”’ The discussion highlighted the importance of transparency, community engagement, and the vital role of local committees in ensuring accountability and effective delivery.
