Today, a one-day hygiene promotion training workshop was successfully conducted at the Civil Authority Hall in Tawila locality, North Darfur, with a focus on toilet hygiene and safe sanitation practices. This important initiative forms part of the Urgent Lifesaving Intervention Project, generously funded by USAID and implemented in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The session brought together 10 community members—both men and women—from Tawila Al-Omda Camp, aiming to equip them with essential knowledge and skills to promote safe hygiene behaviors and maintain clean, functional sanitation facilities within their community, particularly in displacement-affected settings.
This workshop not only highlighted key practices in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) but also emphasized community empowerment, encouraging participants to act as hygiene ambassadors and extend their learning to others in the camp.
We commend the active participation, enthusiasm, and commitment shown by all attendees, and we look forward to seeing the positive ripple effects of this training as participants share their knowledge and contribute to improved public health and living conditions in their community.
