Today marks the official launch of the emergency shelter distribution for 600 displaced families in Tawila Al-Omda Camp (B), North Darfur, as part of the Emergency Shelter Project. This critical humanitarian intervention is generously funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and implemented in partnership with IOM Sudan.
The distribution process is scheduled to continue over the next five days, ensuring that lifesaving shelter materials are delivered in an orderly, dignified, and inclusive manner. This support directly addresses the urgent shelter needs of conflict-affected households, helping to provide safety, protection, and privacy for families living in displacement settings.
Our teams are working in close collaboration with local stakeholders and community representatives to guarantee a needs-based, transparent, and accountable distribution process. The active participation of the community plays a vital role in maintaining fairness and efficiency throughout the intervention.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea for their continued support and to IOM Sudan for their effective implementation and coordination on the ground.
