Reviving Nature, Restoring Hope: Land Preparation in Louni Forest

In the heart of Sudanβs conflict-affected regions, nature has paid a heavy price, forests degraded, biodiversity lost, and communities left vulnerable to climate shocks. At DCES, we believe that restoring ecosystems is not just an environmental necessity, but a pathway to peace, resilience, and sustainable development.
Our latest initiative in Louni Forest represents more than just a reforestation project; it is a commitment to healing the land and the lives that depend on it. By preparing 50 acres for regeneration, planting Acacia seeds, and planning for robust seedling integration, we are laying the foundation for long-term ecological recovery and livelihood security.
This launch marks the beginning of the Sudan Post-Conflict Ecosystem Restoration Project through a strategic partnership with the National Forestry Corporation in Loni, Sennar State. This collaboration represents a pivotal step toward restoring degraded lands and forests, strengthening sustainable development, and safeguarding natural resources for a greener, more resilient future.

Together towards a greener, more resilient Sudan.
