The Deriba Center for Environmental Studies (DCES) successfully organized the 11th Environmental Forum, continuing its long-standing series that began before the current conflict and remains committed to expanding public environmental dialogue in Sudan.
Youth Engagement: Voices for Change
This session examined the complex relationship between population movement and environmental change. Discussions highlighted how migration and displacement increase pressure on natural resources, leading to environmental degradation within host communities and displacement camps. Participants also explored how environmental stress—such as water scarcity and land degradation—can intensify vulnerabilities for displaced families.
The dialogue further addressed strategies for strengthening environmental management, advocating for sustainable solutions, community awareness, and resilience-building in crisis-affected areas.

Youth Engagement: Voices for Change
A remarkable number of young participants attended the forum, contributing thoughtful perspectives and practical insights. Their active engagement reflected the growing role of youth in shaping environmental awareness and advocating for sustainable practices amid ongoing challenges.
