Construction work is steadily advancing in Tawila Al-Omda Camp, North Darfur, where new sanitation facilities and latrines are being built as part of the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Project. This initiative is generously funded by USAID and implemented in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Our dedicated team is working in close collaboration with community members to identify appropriate locations for the facilities. This participatory approach ensures that the constructed latrines meet the highest standards of safety, privacy, accessibility, and environmental sustainability. The involvement of local residents not only fosters a sense of ownership but also supports long-term maintenance and use of the infrastructure.
By improving access to safe and dignified sanitation, this project is helping to reduce the risk of waterborne diseases, promote better hygiene practices, and restore a sense of dignity for displaced families living under challenging conditions. The impact goes beyond infrastructure—it is about restoring hope, protecting health, and empowering communities.
At DCES, we are deeply committed to supporting vulnerable populations with sustainable and inclusive solutions that uphold human dignity in the face of crisis.
