WHAT WE DO...

Our PROGRAMS

To achieve ecologically sustainable societies through the establishment of a research center of excellence, promoting sustainable development on a regional basis as part of a global intervention with a focus on the role of local communities, and building environmental scientific research and technology for natural resources, food, and the environment.

Environmental Education & Capacity Building

The center employs diverse strategies to implement this program, encompassing activities such as hosting environmental forums, promoting school afforestation, establishing environmental clubs, running climate art cafes, and conducting workshop sessions. These initiatives aim to enhance the capacity of our beneficiaries.

Land use & land cover activities

To fulfill our mission of safeguarding and restoring the land, we undertake a range of activities, including forest conservation, protection, and rehabilitation, rangeland improvement, water resource management, and soil enhancement.

Youth and Gender Empowerment

Empowering youth and promoting gender equality are pivotal strategies for our work across all themes. By doing so, we ensure their significant contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and recognize their crucial role in achieving the center’s mission.

Ecological & Biodiversity Conservation

The center applies various approaches to protect and conserve the ecology and biodiversity, these include; Habitat restoration, Sustainable resource use, Wildlife conservation, and providing awareness sessions to ensure the long-term success of our activities.

Advocacy Campaign

DCES employs the advocacy campaign through media platforms as a vital tool in advocating a cause, like a Peacebuilding advocacy campaign through Natural resource management.
